Week 5 Predictions

Lady Gaga will the be the halftime entertainment at this week’s game. That is all.

This Week: 6-2
Last Week: 6-2
Overall: 39-9 (81.3%)

10/2

Alcorn State at Mississippi State – Dan Mullen and his bulldogs got their signature win last week, as I predicted. Too bad it came against one of the worst Georgia teams in years. Alcorn State might put up more of a battle than Richt’s pups did, but the Maroon dogs will win easily.

Mississippi State 38, Alcorn State 10

Mississippi State 49, Alcorn State 16SUCCESS!

Vanderbilt at UConn – What’s a Sweet 16 game doing being played in October? Oh, right, this is football. Not really sure on this one. Vanderbilt beat Ole Miss pretty good, but who hasn’t? UConn was supposed to be decent but got beat pretty good by Michigan.

This one is being played at UConn so I’ll go with the Huskies.

UConn 24, Vanderbilt 17

UConn 40, Vanderbilt 21 SUCCESS!

Kentucky at Ole Miss – This is another tricky one. Yes, I joked that everybody is beating Ole Miss, but they did put 55 points on Fresno State last week. Kentucky, on the other hand, was supposed to challenge Florida last week, but ended up getting blasted. Basically, both of these teams have looked really bad, but good enough to possibly beat the other. Given that Kentucky doesn’t have a bad loss yet, like to Jacksonville State and Vandy, I’ll go with them.

Kentucky 17, Ole Miss 10

Ole Miss 42, Kentucky 35FAILURE

Tennessee at LSU – LSU still hasn’t played a team that anyone would really be scared of, and it continues this week. Tennessee, as we all know, should have lost to UAB. Maybe they are that bad.

Even though LSU’s offense is really bad, their defense will shutout the Vols, so it won’t matter how many points they score.

LSU 20, Tennessee 0

LSU 16, Tennessee 14 SUCCESS!

Georgia at Colorado – A.J. Green returns for the Bulldogs as they travel to Boulder. Will it matter? Does anyone care?

Georgia 21, Colorado 16

Colorado 29, Georgia 27FAILURE

Florida at Alabama – Florida is more of an underdog against Alabama than Arkansas was last week. Then why are the ranked in the top 10? Anyway, as much as everyone wants to bill this as Round 1 of the SEC Championship game, I don’t think it will be that close, or even a good game. I just have that feeling.

Alabama 27, Florida 14 (it hurt to type this)

Alabama 31, Florida 6SUCCESS!

Other Games of Note

Texas vs. Oklahoma – Well let’s see, Oklahoma struggled against Utah State, but blew out Florida State. Texas lost bad to UCLA. Is this the most insignificant Red River Shootout in years? I’ll help you out on that one. Yes it is.

Oklahoma will blowout the Longhorns.

Oklahoma 38, Texas 10

Oklahoma 28, Texas 20 SUCCESS!

Stanford at Oregon – Now we really get to see if Stanford is real. Oregon scores around a point a second, on average obviously, so we’ll see if the Cardinal can keep up. I’m still not completely sold on the Ducks, though. They struggled with Tennessee for a half, who just barely beat UAB in overtime. Not a good point to put on the ol’ resume.

Oregon wins in a shootout.

Oregon 41, Stanford 38

Oregon 52, Stanford 31 SUCCESS!

Twit-Fam Prediction

Louisiana-Monroe at Auburn – Kind of a low turnout on the predictions this week. In fact, the twit-fam has been dead all week. I guess we’re all recovering from the last few games. For those that did participate, I thank you, and Auburn thanks you. Here is your average score prediction:

Auburn 53, Louisiana-Monroe 12

Auburn 52, Louisiana-Monroe 3 SUCCESS!

“Now we really get to see if Stanford is real”

I’ve never been there, but I believe Stanford is real. As for their football team, we’ll see.

I agree with most of your picks except for a few.

Ole Miss over Kentucky.
I think Ole Miss gets it done this week over Kentucky. Hard one to pick but I think they will keep it rollin’.

Texas over Oky
I’m thinking that last weeks humiliation added with an already hated rivalry will have Texas chomping at the bit to get that nasty taste out of their mouth.

Stanford over Oregon
Another hard one to pick, but I really think that Stanford has a great D that will wear down Oregon.

I could agree with you on all three. Those are tough picks.
