Week 6 Predictions: An All-SEC Affair

It wasn’t perfect, but Week 5 was good enough. I tell you, it’s hard work picking this good.

Last week: 7-2 (77.8%)
This week: 4-5 (44.4%)
Overall: 54-20 (72.9%)

We have our first all SEC-on-SEC week and it feels great. 14 teams, 7 games… as God intended.

10/8

Missouri at Florida – The Tigers have almost upset two elite teams the last two weeks to no avail. The Gators almost upset a mediocre team two weeks ago. Will Missouri finally get over the hump? Nah.

Florida 38, Missouri 28

Florida 24, Missouri 17 – SUCCESS!

Tennessee at LSU – There is something about seeing these two color schemes play each other that always bothers me. Their yellows/oranges are just weird to me and shouldn’t clash on the field. Tennessee has looked good against bad weak competition, but people who saw Peyton Manning play there are chomping at the bit to call them back. LSU is fine, but they aren’t great. That said, they’ll win at home.

LSU 31, Tennessee 28

Tennessee 40, LSU 13 – FAILURE

Arkansas at Mississippi State – One team got too much hype, one maybe didn’t get enough, but they are about the same. The difference is that Mississippi State destroyed the team that Arkansas couldn’t beat (Texas A&M).

Mississippi State 38, Arkansas 27

Mississippi State 40, Arkansas 17 – SUCCESS!

Ole Miss at Vanderbilt – Vanderbilt is not good. Ole Miss isn’t a real 5-0 good, but they are way better than Vandy.

Ole Miss 45, Vanderbilt 20

Ole Miss 52, Vanderbilt 28 – SUCCESS!

South Carolina at Kentucky – The Gamecocks have been semi-serviceable at times. Kentucky was finally exposed to be the frauds most level-headed people knew they were last week. But South Carolina isn’t good enough to prove that point further.

Kentucky 21, South Carolina 14

South Carolina 24, Kentucky 14 – FAILURE

Texas A&M at Alabama – The only storyline that will offer any sort of intrigue in this one is will Saban and Jimbo fight at the 50. Texas A&M is off the rails and may not have their quarterback. But neither may Alabama. Either way, Alabama should roll.

Alabama 35, Texas A&M 10

Alabama 24, Texas A&M 20 – SUCCESS!

Auburn at Georgia – Check back later for my prediction in the game preview, but SPOILER ALERT: it’s the south’s oldest rivalry.

Auburn 31, Georgia 27

Georgia 42, Auburn 10 – FAILURE

Other Games of Note

TCU at Kansas – This shouldn’t be a big game, but TCU destroyed Oklahoma and Kansas is undefeated, so I guess we’ll let them have this week. Kansas will be too live for the Horned Frogs.

Kansas 27, TCU 17

TCU 38, Kansas 31 – FAILURE

Utah at UCLA – Who knew UCLA was 5-0? I didn’t. None of their three fans did either. They won’t be after this week. Utah is good enough.

Utah 24, UCLA 20

UCLA 42, Utah 32 – FAILURE
