Week 9 Predictions: More SEC-on-SEC Action

Week 8 was fine. I feel like I say that every week. It’s not bad. It’s just not good enough to get me out of this C-average.

Last Week: 7-3 (70.0%)
This Week: 0-0 (0.0%)
Overall: 63-20 (75.9%)

We have another SEC-only week, which is how I like it. The only two teams that are off are Florida and Georgia who are resting up for that monumental matchup next week.

10/25

Ole Miss at Oklahoma – Both of these teams are ranked too high. But who else you gonna put up there? This might be the worst college football season of all time. It’s almost like NIL and the transfer portal aren’t good ideas. Oklahoma has been awful since the Auburn game because they are awful and were given a hype win.

Ole Miss 28, Oklahoma 27

Alabama at South Carolina – Remember when Stephen Garcia led the Gamecocks to a win over Nick Saban. Yeah, that won’t happen. Alabama has found it. South Carolina pretended to have it with the media’s help and lost what they didn’t have long ago.

Alabama 34, South Carolina 10

Missouri at Vanderbilt – Put these two teams and South Carolina in a space ship and send them to figure out what’s on the dark side of the moon and don’t tell them how to get back. It’s annoying vs. annoying in this one. Either one can win. Vanderbilt has to have run out of fake mojo. Surely.

Missouri 17, Vanderbilt 14

Texas at Mississippi State – Wait, Texas’s two mid/late season back-to-back road trips are Kentucky then Mississippi State? When do they get their initiation to the SEC? They’ve been eased in and still only beat Kentucky in overtime last week. State will get the win of their life.

Mississippi State 24, Texas 16

Texas A&M at LSU – The Aggies are the only undefeated team in the SEC. It doesn’t feel real. LSU isn’t the team to end the streak, though. They can’t even beat Vanderbilt.

Texas A&M 31, LSU 21

Tennessee at Kentucky – Watch out, Vols. Texas rolled into basketball-land last week and limped out with a 3-point win in overtime. People don’t just go up there and win easily. They will.

Tennessee 48, Kentucky 10

Auburn at Arkansas – Check back later for my prediction in the game preview, but SPOILER ALERT: hapless Hawgs are still hapless.

Other Games of Note

South Florida at Memphis – Why am I picking this game? Because college football is terrible and the only good games each week are inside the SEC. Both of these teams are 6-1, so that’s why they get the fortune of being on this hallowed space. Home team wins despite losing to UAB last week.

Memphis 35, South Florida 31

Michigan at Michigan State – Why am I picking this game? The same reasons as above and it kinda looks like a rivalry game. Michigan State is bad. Michigan is boringly average, but they’ll win.

Michigan 28, Michigan State 21

Now that you know who will win, head on over to the 2025 War Blogle Pick ’em and get your picks in. There will be weekly prizes and an overall winner at the end of the season. It’s easy. Do it.
