Week 7 was fine. I need good grade this week to get out of this downward trend, though.
Last Week: 6-3 (66.7%)
This Week: 0-0 (0.0%)
Overall: 56-17 (76.7%)
We’re fully in the swing of SEC play. All sixteen teams are playing in conference. As God intended. Pretty good slate. Which makes the picks the toughest they can be.
10/18
LSU at Vanderbilt – Have you heard that Vandy is favored against the Purple Tigers for the first time since the 1940s? I think that says more about LSU than Vandy.
LSU 20, Vanderbilt 17
Oklahoma at South Carolina – Well Oklahoma sure did drop quickly from playoff contender with the best QB in the nation to just nothing, huh? South Carolina is exactly what they’ll always be. Stop hyping them. They’ll lose a close one.
Oklahoma 14, South Carolina 10
Texas A&M at Arkansas – The Hawgs scored a lot against Tennessee last week. The Aggies leave home for only the 2nd time this season. It could be a close one, but Arkansas will lose. I have now picked three road wins in the first three games. This is going to go great.
Texas A&M 35, Arkansas 27
Ole Miss at Georgia – Ole Miss barely beat Washington State last week. Washington State lost 59-10 to North Texas. Georgia should’ve lost 17-16 to Auburn last week. Neither are great. The home team will win a boring, mistake-filled game.
Georgia 28, Ole Miss 24
Mississippi State at Florida – Ya know, I heard if Napier loses this one he’s gone. I love when people that mean nothing to anything just decide stuff about when and who deserves to be fired or not.
Florida 30, Mississippi State 20
Texas at Kentucky – Seeing Texas play at Kentucky is very weird.
Texas 38, Kentucky 14
Tennessee at Alabama – Has anybody else just kinda forgotten about Tennessee? They should’ve beaten Georgia and I haven’t really thought about them again. Alabama’s best win is a 3-point victory over bland Georgia. They’ve looked slightly better since getting destroyed by a 3-3 team that still hasn’t won a conference game in a year.
Alabama 27, Tennessee 21
Missouri at Auburn – Check back later for my prediction in the game preview, but SPOILER ALERT: Jordan-Hare is not in Missouri.
Other Games of Note
USC at Notre Dame – The Trojans beat Michigan last week. Their only loss is to Illinois the week after the Illini were destroyed by Indiana. Notre Dame needs the win to help get back into the playoff discussion. They’ll win at home.
Notre Dame 24, USC 21
Utah at BYU – It’s the Holy War. Can you still you say that? Utah has a loss to Texas Tech. BYU has a loss to nobody. This always seems like the game where the small private high school that destroys at the lower level gets destroyed by a real football team. Just checked, BYU’s biggest win was last week over Arizona in overtime. Yeah, they’re losing.
Utah 34, BYU 17
