Week 8 Predictions: A Bunch of Either/Or

I’m not sure I’ve ever had a worse week than Week 7. I tell my baseball players to always go to cocky and take one step back. I didn’t do that.

Last week: 1-7 (12.5%)
This week: 7-0 (100.0%)
Overall: 62-27 (69.7%)

This week is filled with those SEC games that could go either way. It’s time to step up.

10/22

UT-Martin at Tennessee – The Vols take one on the chin after the biggest win in their program’s history. Not really, but we all need it.

Tennessee 58, UT-Martin 10

Tennessee 65, UT-Martin 24 – SUCCESS!

Ole Miss at LSU – It’s the two teams Auburn could’ve beaten without turnovers. One leads the SEC West now, and it’s not LSU. Ole Miss has bad defense. LSU has not great offense. The difference will be LSU being able to stop Ole Miss’s rushing attack. It’s supposed to be scary playing in Baton Rouge, but look what Tennessee did to them two weeks ago. LSU will get this one, though.

LSU 34, Ole Miss 30

LSU 45, Ole Miss 20 – SUCCESS!

Vanderbilt at Missouri – You’d think this will be the battle of the worst teams in the SEC. But that’s not true. Missouri is much better than their record. Vandy is Vandy.

Missouri 38, Vanderbilt 17

Missouri 17, Vanderbilt 14 – SUCCESS!

Mississippi State at Alabama – The Maroons will score 100 points one week and then lose to Kentucky by 10 the next week. Alabama is the most undisciplined team in America. They might have five fans at the game since they are still in mourning and taking screenshots of the bad calls from last week’s loss. But those five fans will see a blowout.

Alabama 48, Mississippi State 13

Alabama 30, Mississippi State 6 – SUCCESS!

Texas A&M at South Carolina – As much as I don’t want to give South Carolina more overhype, the Aggies have been trending downward, despite being a play away from beating Alabama. This will be one of those weird late SEC games with lots points. And maybe even an overtime or two.

South Carolina 42, Texas A&M 38

South Carolina 30, Texas A&M 24 – SUCCESS!

Other Games of Note

Syracuse at Clemson – What if I told you both of these teams are undefeated? Syracuse hasn’t played anything too difficult. Clemson is starting to look like Clemson of the last decade rather than the Clemson of all the decades before that.

Clemson 31, Syracuse 21

Clemson 27, Syracuse 21 – SUCCESS!

UCLA at Oregon – The Bruins have 6 wins and 0 losses. The Ducks have 5 wins and 1 loss. UCLA has as many wins as fans that have showed up to their games. A trip to Eugene will be tough given that there will be actual sound at the game. Bo will further his Heisman campaign with four touchdowns.

Oregon 42, UCLA 23

Oregon 45, UCLA 30 – SUCCESS!

Now that you know who will win, head on over to the 2022 War Blogle Pick ’em and get your picks in. There will be weekly prizes and an overall winner at the end of the season. It’s easy. Do it.
