Week 14 Predictions: Championship Week… sorta

Strong week last week. That’s how you finish out a regular season, unlike SOMEBODY I KNOW. It’s championship week, but more like championship WEAK! RIGHT?! Why am I yelling? Let’s do this.

Last Week: 9-1
This Week: 5-1
Overall: 110-32 (77.5%)

11/30

UCLA at Stanford (Pac-12 Championship) -This was supposed to be USC and Oregon, but then they went and lost all those games. I can’t get excited about UCLA and Stanford, but it should be a good game. Stanford will win.

Stanford 34, UCLA 20

Stanford 27, UCLA 24SUCCESS!

12/1

Alabama vs. Georgia (SEC Championship) – Alabama has the better defense. Georgia has the better quarterback. Alabama, save the Iron Bowl, hasn’t been playing their best of the season. Georgia has. The game is closer to Athens, but that shouldn’t matter. I don’t have a clue who’s going to win this, and I really don’t care. Can they both lose?

I just flipped a coin. Georgia won.

Georgia 28, Alabama 27

Alabama 32, Georgia 28FAILURE

Florida State vs. Georgia Tech (ACC Championship) – This game is why I had the “sorta” in the title. Georgia Tech is 6-6 and in the ACC Championship game. 6-6. With Stoops on his way out the door, and Jimbo maybe joining him, will it cause enough of a distraction to give the Yellow Jackets a chance? No.

Florida State 37, Georgia Tech 14

Florida State 21, Georgia Tech 15SUCCESS!

Nebraska vs. Wisconsin (Big 10 Championship) This was another reason I put “sorta” in the title. Ohio State and Penn State finished ahead of Wisconsin in the “Losers” division, but due to tattoos and Sandusky, they are both ineligible. Therefore, Nebraska gets to play the 3rd best team in the division. Then again, Nebraska only beat Wisconsin by three at home. A team that usually gets a chance like Wisconsin is getting usually takes advantage. They’ll win.

Wisconsin 30, Nebraska 27

Wisconsin 70, Nebraska 31SUCCESS!

Other Games of Note

Middle Tennessee State at Arkansas State – The Sunbelt doesn’t have an official championship game, but this one will decide the champion. Both teams have the same overall and conference record. Both have beaten their opponents in the same manner. Middle Tennessee State did beat Georgia Tech, but we already discussed them, so that’s understandable. I’m going to give the edge to Gus because it’s at home.

Arkansas State 38, Middle Tennessee State 28

Arkansas State 45, Middle Tennessee State 0SUCCESS!

Texas at Kansas State – We all thought this would be the real test for Kansas State. It was supposed to be their play-in game to get to the National Championship. Then Baylor had to ruin everything. The Wildcats haven’t played since they lost to the Bears, so it will be interesting to see how they respond. I think they’ll come out playing better than ever and crush Texas.

Kansas State 42, Texas 20

Kansas State 42, Texas 24SUCCESS!

**Upset Alert**

Boise State at Nevada – Remember when used to all huddle around the campfire at the end of the season to hopefully see Nevada beat Boise State? It’s happened a few times, and it’s going to happen again. What, with Chris Petersen looking to come to Auburn and all…

Nevada 31, Boise State 27

Boise State 27, Nevada 21FAILURE

Georgia Tech has the opportunity to go 6-8. I don’t think that has ever happened.

That is a very interesting concept.
