Um, excuse me, Mr. Newton…?

If you aren’t aware, former Alabama head coach Mike Shula is the quarterbacks coach for the Carolina Panthers. This, of course, means that he is Cam Newton’s position coach. There’s a word for that, but I can’t think of it right now.

We all know Cam would never say this, but he definitely could… right? Pic from this article.

As a Jags fan, I’m glad he’s coaching in Carolina now and away from David Garrard. During Shula’s tenure here, David has regressed. As an Auburn fan and Cam fan, I just hope the same doesn’t happen to him. War Eagle!

A little interesting piece of history. My Dad and I were driving in Jacksonville many years ago and saw the Alabama 18 wheelers on 9A near the beach. If you have not had the opportunity, they are two gaudy transfer trucks with the big Babar on side with the with decals claimig 30 or so national championships. Anyway we could not figure out what they were doing there until we read that David Garrard’s chances of success just evaporated witht he hiring of Mikey Shula. He must of had some contract point that stated they would move his crap for him. I am sure this was the happiest day of Mal Moore’s carrer watching those trucks roll out of Tuscaloosa.

Cam is very polite, but I CAN imagine that Shula will definitely drive Cam to saying just exactly THAT at some point this season. He’ll follow it with a wink, a smile and a War Eagle.
