2010/2011 Bowl Predictions – Week 3

This is not going good…not good at all. What started out promising has taken a turn for the worse very quickly. Terrible calls at the end of two games are to blame for two misses, but that wouldn’t change much. At this rate, my pick percentage will match Tim Brando’s.

My analysis obviously means nothing when it comes to bowl games, so these predictions will have none.

Bowl Season: 17-15
Regular Season: 86-27 (76.1%)
Overall: 102-42 (71.0%)

1/1

TicketCity Bowl (11 a.m. ESPNU)
Northwestern vs. Texas Tech – Dude, Northwestern played Auburn in the Outback Bowl last year, and Tommy Tuberville coached at Auburn. Whoa..total mindblow.

Texas Tech 28, Northwestern 24

Texas Tech 45, Northwestern 38SUCCESS!

Outback Bowl (12 p.m. ABC)
Florida vs. Penn State
I know everyone has said this, but isn’t it funny that 46-year old Urban Meyer has retired twice before 84-year old Joe Paterno has retired once?

Florida 27, Penn State 17

Florida 37, Penn State 24SUCCESS!

Capital One Bowl (12 p.m. ESPN)
Alabama at Michigan State – Mark Ingram grew up pulling for the Spartans. That’s funny, so am I. But seriously folks, there’s only one word that comes to mind when I think about this game: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! You do it to yourself, Bammers.

Alabama 34, Michigan State 14

Alabama 49, Michigan State 7 SUCCESS!

Progressive Gator Bowl (12:30 p.m. ESPN2)
Mississippi State vs. Michigan – Mississippi State just upped Dan Mullen’s pay. Most of the Michigan administration wants Rodriguez gone. Both will look pretty dumb after this one.

Michigan 34, Mississippi State 20

Mississippi State 52, Michigan 14FAILURE

Rose Bowl Game presented by Vizio (4 p.m. ESPN)
Wisconsin vs. TCU – The title for this game is longer than my prediction: not even close.

Wisconsin 44, TCU 14

TCU 21, Wisconsin 19FAILURE

Tostitos Fiesta Bowl (7:30 p.m. ESPN)

Connecticut vs. Oklahoma – Man, I just used “not even close.” Ok, how about “not gonna watch?” Wait, what am I saying? I gotta scout the venue.

Oklahoma 38, Connecticut 10

Oklahoma 48, Connecticut 20 SUCCESS!

1/3

Discover Orange Bowl (7:30 p.m. ESPN)
Stanford vs. Virginia Tech – So technically Stanford was one win away from losing to playing Auburn in the BCS National Championship Game. Virginia Tech lost to James Madison. I know they’ve won every game since, but still. Some dead, white dude beat you? You’ll never live that down.

Stanford 34, Virginia Tech 30

Stanford 40, Virginia Tech 12 SUCCESS!

1/4

AllState Sugar Bowl (7:30 p.m. ESPN)
Ohio State vs. Arkansas
– If you aren’t following the fake Ryan Mallett Twitter account, you are missing out. It is perfect, yo. If you’re not following Terelle Pryor’s real Twitter account, you are missing out on seeing that he is nothing like Cam. The only thing they have in common is their position and number.

Ohio State 31, Arkansas 27

Ohio State 31, Arkansas 26 SUCCESS!

1/6

GoDaddy.com Bowl (7 p.m. ESPN)
Middle Tennessee State vs. Miami (OH) – Seriously…?

Miami (OH) 31, Middle Tennessee State 17

Miami (OH) 35, Middle Tennessee State 21 SUCCESS!

1/7

AT&T Cotton Bowl (7 p.m. FOX)
LSU vs. Texas A&M – The last time Auburn played in the Cotton Bowl, I was still wearing pajamas and scratching myself during the 10 a.m. kickoff. Of course now it’s been moved to prime time. I guess I’ll be in pajamas by the end, so it all comes full circle. Scratching is highly possible, too.

LSU 24.5, Texas A&M (You know Les Miles will find a way to score half a point)

LSU 41, Texas A&M 24SUCCESS!

Wow. Big Ten just went 0-3 against the SEC today. Legends and Leaders, or Losers and Louts?
