The final rankings of the college football season are usually looked over because there aren’t any other games to improve your team’s ranking. The season is over so who cares, right? Well actually, the final poll of the year is the only poll that matters, at all, in any way…ever. The whole point of the season is to see who was the best team overall after a full slate of games. I’m guessing the Texas you ranked #2 was the Texas with a healthy Colt McCoy. I think that team that played in the NCG without McCoy would be ranked below UF, Boise, and possibly Ohio St.
Did you forget that the McCoy-less score was 24-21 with three minutes left? And remember this is a full season’s poll, not the last week’s poll.
