TEAM HISTORY

The Arkansas Razorbacks are historically a better-than-average team. They claim 1 national title (1964) and 13 conference titles, all of which occurred while they were members of the now-defunct SWC.

They’ve had good years and some very well-known football players, coaches, etc., such as Frank Broyles, Barry Switzer, Lou Holtz, Jimmy Johnson, Jerry Jones, and Darren McFadden. That’s quite a who’s who of folks involved in the game of football.

SERIES HISTORY

Auburn currently enjoys a 20-13 record all-time against Arkansas.

It typically occurs early enough in the season that conference implications are on the line for both teams, and the breaks usually tend to go Auburn’s way. Not this time.

Arkansas is limping into this game, twirling and flailing behind that Harley-of-fate and Bobby Petrino redux.

Arkansas has never won more than 2 in a row against Auburn, while our longest winning streak against Arkansas stretched 6 games from 2016-2021.

WHAT TO WATCH

Once again, we’ve reached the same point in the season where I’ve given up on telling you what to watch. Hugh is dedicated to this deadbeat scheme that’s clearly not working. He continues putting his QB into a tough spot and then blames them when things don’t work. Dude could do nothing but run the ball and play field position, and win. Instead, he’ll throw the ball 90% of the time and score less than 20 points.

The defense is good. The secondary really felt like it was coming on in the game against Mizzou. This unit will keep Auburn in pretty much any game they play.

I think Hugh said something about toying with the idea of Ashton Daniels playing, but frankly, at this point, the dude is throwing spaghetti against a wall. What’s becoming glaringly obvious is that’s what he’s been doing ever since he got here.

PREDICTION

If Auburn has to score more than 20 points, then we won’t win. Our best bet is an ugly defensive slugfest.

Auburn 17, Arkansas 13
