College football is finally here and it’s a big weekend across the college football world. Several top 25 matchups this weekend will already have playoff implications for several teams.
This season I’ll be doing a new series called the Emporium’s Pick Six. I will pick six non-SEC games that you should pay attention to each week and make my predictions for each of them. Nebraska @ Cincinnati | Thursday 8:00 P.M. CT on ESPN
My Prediction: Nebraska
Nebraska has a lot of hype coming into this season. Sophomore quarterback Dylan Raiola will make some noise in the BIG 10 this year. I just think they will be too much for a Bearcats team that is struggling to find consistency.
Georgia Tech @ Colorado | Friday 7:00 CT on ESPN
My Prediction: Georgia Tech
This game is one of the best matchups of the week. Both of these teams were competitive in 2024 and will look to improve this season. There are going to be lots of questions for Colorado after losing Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders. I really like Hayes King and Georgia Tech despite losing their star wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr to Auburn. I believe they come out on top in a very close game.

My Prediction: Texas
This game is honestly one of the biggest of the weekend. A huge clash between two teams who met in the playoff semifinals last year. Texas looks to get revenge after losing that game in heartbreaking fashion. I do think Arch Manning is the real deal and that Texas will win this game in a shootout.
#9 LSU @ #4 Clemson | Saturday 6:30 P.M. CT on ABC
My Prediction: Clemson
This game features two of the best quarterbacks in Cade Klubnik and Garrett Nussmeier. I think this will be a high scoring game but Clemson at home and their environment will make things tough for the visiting Tigers. I think Klubnik will be able to make some clutch plays to help secure the victory.
Utah @ UCLA | Saturday 10:00 P.M. CT on FOX
My Prediction: UCLA
The Bruins will get the win. I think Nico Iamaleava’s transfer from Tennessee to UCLA will help the Bruins offense. Utah has always had a tough defense but they don’t have much to offer on the offensive side of the ball. I like the Bruins to win big!
#6 Notre Dame @ #10 Miami | Sunday 6:30 P.M CT on ABC
My Prediction: Miami
The addition of Carson Beck feels like the perfect thing for Miami after Cam Ward left for the NFL. Beck brings SEC experience from his time at Georgia and I think they get a big win over Notre Dame who made the National Championship last season.
