Week 3 Predictions: Still a Little Muddy

Not a great week last week. Picked a few with my cold heart instead of my head. Time to get back on track.

Last week: 8-6 (57.1%)
This week: 11-3 (78.6%)
Overall: 31-13 (70.5%)

We have more SEC action, but nothing that should really tell us what’s going on. Still a few good games to look at, though.

9/17

Georgia at South Carolina – South Carolina had their national championship dreams dashed at the hands of Arkansas last week. Georgia only beat Samford 33-0. Columbia’s city stadium will be raucous for a quarter.

Georgia 38, South Carolina 13

Georgia 48, South Carolina 7 – SUCCESS!

Youngstown State at Kentucky – How is it that Kentucky goes entire seasons without playing any good teams?

Kentucky 45, Youngstown State 14

Kentucky 31, Youngstown State 0 – SUCCESS!

Abilene Christian at Missouri – The Tigers were destroyed by Kansas State last week. They are not playing Kansas State this week.

Missouri 41, Abiline Christian 10

Missouri 34, Abiline Christian 17 – SUCCESS!

Ole Miss at Georgia Tech – Georgia Tech wasn’t terrible against Clemson in Week 1. Ole Miss was not good against Troy in Week 1. Then they both dispatched lesser teams in Week 2, although the Yellow Jackets only beat Western Carolina 35-17. Ole Miss is better, but crazy things happen in Bobby Dodd… do they?

Ole Miss 35, Georgia Tech 17

Ole Miss 42, Georgia Tech 0 – SUCCESS!

Vanderbilt at Northern Illinois – NEEEERRRRRRRRRDDDDDSSSSS… are going TO Northern Illinois??

Vanderbilt 20, Northern Illinois 17

Vanderbilt 38, Northern Illinois 28 – SUCCESS!

UL-Monroe at Alabama – ULM currently owns the series record with Alabama. Really, Alabama leads it 2-1 (still a joke), but one of Alabama’s wins was forfeited due to them cheating like they always do. Alabama will finally get in the positive in the series in this one.

Alabama 34, UL-Monroe 7

Alabama 63, UL-Monroe 7 – SUCCESS!

Mississippi State at LSU – The Purple Tigers looked much better against Southern. Mississippi State went to Arizona won kinda big while everybody was asleep. They won’t win in Death Valley in that fam-uh-lee atmosphere.

LSU 31, Mississippi State 28

LSU 31, Mississippi State 16 – SUCCESS!

Missouri State at Arkansas – How is it that Arkansas’s two toughest games of the year are Auburn and Alabama? But their coach is so funny!

Arkansas 45, Missouri State 9

Arkansas 38, Missouri State 27 – SUCCESS!

Akron at Tennessee – The Zips and the Vols. That’s all I got.

Tennessee 52, Akron 7

Tennessee 63, Akron 6 – SUCCESS!

South Florida at Florida – Oh, I thought you were the greatest. Beating Utah and all that. What’s it like never leaving your state for a non-conference game?

Florida 28, South Florida 7

Florida 31, South Florida 28 – SUCCESS!

Miami at Texas A&M – The Aggies are not that good. Neither is Miami, but they’re going to win and all the late 70’s babies are gonna rank them top 10 because they want to return to their childhood.

Miami 34, Texas A&M 23

Texas A&M 17, Miami 9 – FAILURE

Penn State at Auburn – Check back later for my prediction in the game preview, but SPOILER ALERT: orange is the new white.

Auburn 27, Penn State 21

Penn State 41, Auburn 12 – FAILURE

Other Games of Note

BYU at Oregon – Bo Nix threw for 800 touchdowns last week. BYU beat Baylor. Who cares? It’s just cute.

Oregon 37, BYU 27

Oregon 41, BYU 20 – SUCCESS!

Texas Tech at NC State – The Red Raiders beat somebody last week. I can’t remember who and don’t care to look. Ok fine, it was Houston. NC State is somehow still ranked after beating East Carolina by a missed extra point.

Texas Tech 24, NC State 17

NC State 27, Texas Tech 14 – FAILURE

Now that you know who will win, head on over to the 2022 War Blogle Pick ’em and get your picks in. There will be weekly prizes and an overall winner at the end of the season. It’s easy. Do it.
