I originally had this idea before last season, but couldn’t get past the logistics to make a certain part of the video work. This year, I decided that I don’t care anymore, so I’m just putting it out there. The video explains everything, just get past the presentation and imagine the idea on a larger scale. Watch it, learn it, do it.
Spread the world. Help change the sports world forever.

great idea, but it’s going to take a lot of lung power
All we need is for it to spread. Last year at the beginning of the season only the students knew when to throw their hands up on ‘All I Do Is Win.’ A few games later, everyone from 2-100 was doing it.
We can make this happen.
I’ll never hear that song again without thinking/saying WDE! Think its a great idea!
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ll probably get flamed for making this suggestion but ….It also works just as well with our standard WAR EEEAA GLE. I know it’s three beats instead of four, and it lacks the bravado of saying a curse word for purposes of punctuatio and more importantly, the uselfulness for venting of all of our anger issues against the haters but “War Eagle” works fine. I just tried it.
War Eagle!
Fully endorsed by the elder generation!
I agree with AUjamstan, we don’t really need the “damn”
I appreciate the effort, but I.HATE.IT. It sounds just like Alabama interjecting RT into absolutely everything, including Sweet Home Alabama. It already sickens me to be at an Iron Bowl and have Auburn fans responding to Alabama’s “R…….T…..R…..T…..” (sorry, I don’t say or even type them) with “Waaaar Eagle…Waaaar Eagle.” While it’s definitely an Auburn saying, doing it that way is nothing but a copycat attempt to combat something Alabama is doing.
I will now get off my soapbox.
You may have just single handedly come up with the GAYEST idea in all of sports!!
You make a valid and eloquently put point. I think I speak on behalf of everybody here when I say that we respect you’re opinion and appreciate your thoughtful feedback. Roh Tahd!
Similar to what Penn. State does, but they use their “We are Penn. State” chant. Not a bad idea, but I don’t know if it would catch on with everyone.
War F*cking Eagle works better because the f word’s two syllables can fill up the space of the two eighth notes. Just a thought. So, which is it? F*ckin or Damn? You have to have another word. I’m not doing the drawn out Eeeeeee-agle like it’s the failed Touchdooooooo-wn Auburn in 2003.
Auburn is a family atmosphere. Let’s not lower ourselves to this. It’s offensive language and we’re better than that.
So should we get rid of Bodda Getta?
WB, I’ve noticed that alot of folks who don’t “approve” of the word damn, extend the War in War Eagle at the end of the Bodda Getta chant. It doesn’t sound right, or even fit well for that matter. But I’m sure the above poster more than likely one of these people. *shrugs*
I’m a 09 Alum with no wife or kids and I don’t say damn in Bodda Getta. Not because I don’t approve of it, but because it makes us sound like a bunch of hicks. It’s been War Eagle since my granddad was here in the 30s; why change tradition to sound more redneck? And why are we damning the eagle? There’s just a lot that doesn’t make sense about adding the damn. War Eagle fam. Or famn.
just wanted to add that I love the Blogle Thanks for your hard work
Cool but I think that Arizona does it and maybe a big 10-12 team.
They say War Damn Eagle? Awesome!
If you want this to catch on, you need to get the band to agree to do it. Being in the Drum line from 1995-2000, we started a few cheers during my time. They are organized and they work well together. Plus they are in the middle of the student section which means the students pick up on it instantly.
Specifically get the drum line, Tubas, Trombones, and/or trumpets to do it, and it will catch on.
Truth!
I would be more of a fan of everyone jumping up and down and going nuts, but maybe this would help towards that.
It would probably look something like this (Penn state beat us to it)
Trumpets are worthless; they mostly stand with arms folded across their chests. Trombones, tubas, saxes and drums are the sections who care.
Lets do it!!! Spread the word!
Who cares about Penn State? This is an awesome idea! And we are gonna do it sooooooooo much better. Spread the word…. I’ll be doing it
