Roundtable of Tigers Past – UT-Chattanooga Week

I wish I would have waited to send out my questions until after the Cam stuff broke, but maybe next week. Still no Bret this week. Anybody seen him?

1. Put yourself in the current team’s shoes, how good does this week look to you?

Jeris: This week looks really good. We are coming off a tough stretch of games and we won all of them. This week will give us time to work on things as well as rest some guys for the big games we have coming up. We are going to need everybody.

Cole: Looks great. Team got Sunday and Monday off. So you get to rest, and practice is always lighter with young guys getting more reps. Undefeated and #2 in the BCS would be pretty cool I assume.

2. Without saying ‘Auburn controls their own destiny’, or ‘win and you’re in’, how do you feel about Auburn dropping to #2 in the BCS?

Jeris: To me, the BCS makes no sense at all. We have beaten south South Carolina, Arkansas, LSU, and Miss. State. We are 9-0 and have beaten four ranked teams. Oregon is 8-0 and have beaten 1 ranked team in Stanford, but they move up to #1. I  just dont understand it at all. It will all play out in the end, but I still don’t see how this BCS stuff works.

Cole: Don’t care. I honestly don’t have a problem with Oregon being #1 if Auburn is #2. Auburn is #1 in my poll and I feel they have accomplished the most, but Oregon has looked solid. Maybe it motivates the kids!

3. How good is Mike Dyer going to be?

Jeris: I think he will leave Auburn being another great back in the line of great backs that we have had at Auburn. He will be an All-SEC back, maybe even All-American back. If you look at his stats this year, he is in pace to rush for 1000 yards as a true freshman, and he is only going to get better and better, which is just scary.

Cole: I don’t know. But I do know he is pretty damn good right now. Finally saw that burst from him against Ole Miss. There is no doubt he is THE back from here on.
