What Coach Freeze Said After the UL-Monroe Win

Coach Hugh Freeze sat down with the media following Auburn’s win over UL-Monroe. It was a happier day.

Opening statement…
“First, thanks to our fans and showing up like always. They’re faithful, and then to our military, just for us to be able to honor them today in a small way. That was neat to see all branches recognized and us honor them. A lot of the freedoms we enjoy wouldn’t be possible without their sacrifices. Proud of our staff and kids. It was one of our better performances in my time here, zero penalties, should have been zero turnovers. We have to take care of the football, even our young kids. Two receivers over 100 yards. It’s been a while since that has happened, and one with three touchdowns with Cam Coleman’s performance. Payton (Thorne) ties the AU record for five TD passes and we had our 1,000-yard rusher today in Jarquez (Hunter). Couldn’t be prouder of him. It was a pretty dominant performance with just a small lapse at the beginning of the third quarter by both sides. Just really proud of our kids and our effort, and hopefully, we gain some confidence headed into these last two huge football games that we have (against Texas A&M and Alabama).”
