The Emporium’s Outside the SEC Predictions – Week 11

It’s the weekend and that means it’s time for another slate of college football games. We’re taking a look at some games outside of SEC play that you need to have your eye on. Take a look!

No.4 Miami Hurricanes at Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets | Saturday 11:00 a.m CT on ESPN

Cam Ward and the Miami Hurricanes head to Atlanta looking to keep their undefeated season alive. The Canes bring in a high-powered offense averaging 556 yards a game. Georgia Tech brings in a stout defense that’s allowed an average of 22 points per game. The Yellow Jackets have been competitive this year, but have dealt with injuries at the quarterback position. Starting QB Haynes King has been out the last two games, but it appears that he could return for this game. King has shown his ability this season and I think he’s give the Yellow Jackets a chance. I think there will be points, but I just don’t see how they stop Cam Ward and the Miami offense. Miami 38 | Georgia Tech 21

No.23 Clemson Tigers at Virginia Tech Hokies | Saturday 2:30 p.m. CT on ESPN

Clemson is looking to bounce back after an embarrassing loss at home to Louisville last week. Now they go on the road to play a tough Virginia Tech team. The Hokies always have a tough environment so Clemson will have to play their best. I really like the play from Kyron Drones. He’s an elusive quarterback and I think he’ll make it difficult for the Clemson defense. I like the Hokies to get the win at home. Virginia Tech 28 |  Clemson 20

Michigan Wolverines at No 8. Indiana Hoosiers | Saturday 2:30 p.m. CT on CBS

Indiana looks to keep pace in the race for the BIG 10 title game and possibly a berth in the 12-team playoff. The Michigan Wolverines come into town trying to get some momentum going after what has been a difficult season. Indiana’s defense has been a big story allowing an average of 17 points a game. Michigan is coming off a tough loss to number one ranked Oregon. The Wolverines hung around, but just could not stop the Ducks offense. I think Michigan will struggle to produce offense and Indiana will win comfortably. Indiana 27 | Michigan 10

No.20 Colorado Buffaloes at Texas Tech Red Raiders | Saturday 3:00 p.m. CT on FOX

Colorado heads to the Lone Star State to face Texas Tech in what is shaping up to be a shootout. Texas Tech is coming off a huge upset in Ames against the Iowa State Cyclones. The Red Raiders are peaking at the right time, sitting in a tie for third place. A win could give them an outside shot at making the BIG 10 conference title game. Colorado has transformed their season and has proven the haters wrong. Shaduer Sanders has been impressive and has proven he can play big time college football. I like the Buffaloes to prevail in a shootout. Colorado 41 | Texas Tech 38

No 9. BYU Cougars at Utah Utes | Saturday 9:15 p.m. CT on ESPN

While many point to Alabama and LSU as the game of the weekend, I think this game is flying under the radar. This is always a heated contest between two rivals that hate each other. BYU is aiming for their first BIG 12 title game and a berth in the college football playoff. Utah hasn’t hasn’t had the season they were hoping for, but they would love nothing better than to ruin their rivals perfect season. I think this game will be pure chaos, but I like Utah to win in a close game. Utah 27 | BYU 20
