SEC Bowl Lineup

We’ve known for about a week that Auburn would play in the Outback Bowl, but until now we were told by multiple media members that the opponent would be Wisconsin. However, the Outback Bowl announced today that they had picked Northwestern as its Big 10 representative. I am much happier with this decision. How about you?

Here are where all SEC teams are headed:

PapaJohns.com Bowl: South Carolina vs. UConn
Independence Bowl: Georgia vs. Texas A&M
Liberty Bowl: Arkansas vs. East Carolina
Music City Bowl: Kentucky vs. Clemson
Chick-fil-A Bowl: Tennessee vs. Virginia Tech
Cotton Bowl: Ole Miss vs. Oklahoma State
Outback Bowl: Auburn vs. Northwestern
Capital One Bowl: LSU vs. Penn State
Sugar Bowl: Florida vs. Cincinnati
BCS National Championship: Alabama vs. Texas

I’m pumped about the AU-NW matchup. I don’t see any records of the teams ever facing each other so this will be interesting. I’m somewhat concerned about their passing game versus our secondary, but we did pretty good against Bama in that regards.

Also – 10 of 12 SEC teams playing in bowl games this year will be exciting. It is always hard to pedict a bowl game becuase the layoff and holiday season seems to play havoc on what “should” happen on game day, but I see the SEC walkibng away with at 6 of these and possibly 8.
