TEAM HISTORY
The University of South Alabama (USA) Jaguars compete in football in the Sun Belt Conference. They are a relatively new team that has only been around for less than 20 years.
I’ve been conditioned to believe that everything is “near the airport” when discussing anything in Mobile, so I’m going to speculate that the University of South Alabama is as well.
USA’s current head coach is Major Applewhite, a name you might remember as a QB at Texas, offensive coordinator at Alabama, and because it’s impossible to forget someone’s name when their name is Major Applewhite.
The Jags went undefeated in their first two seasons, but by far their greatest accomplishment to date is escaping from having to play home games at Ladd-Peebles Stadium beginning in 2020.

WHAT TO WATCH
This feels like another game where, ideally, we won’t know an awful lot more than we do now. The Jags lost a close first game to Tulane, and these are the games that tend to give Auburn fans heartburn:
- before noon
- team from a mid-major conference with nothing to lose
- Auburn is coming off two decent showings (prime for a letdown just in time for conference play)

I would like to remind everyone that I was 1 point off from predicting last week’s score perfectly, which means I can’t count by 7’s.
