Week 3 Predictions: Some SEC-on-SEC Action

We’re running at a pretty normal clip here, aren’t we? In Week 1, I was 13-15. In Week 2, I was 13-4. Man there are a lot of games to pick. Can we kick somebody out?

Last Week: 13-4 (76.5%)
This Week: 0-0 (0.0%)
Overall: 26-9 (74.3%)

This week we finally get more SEC-on-SEC action so the number of games to pick will start going down. Let’s see what we got…

9/14

LSU at South Carolina – For some reason ESPN’s College Gameday is at this game. LSU is 1-1. South Carolina beat Old Dominion by 4 and then pulled away from Kentucky in the 4th quarter last week. What exactly is the excitement here? For as much as SEC Network loves South Carolina, I hate them that much.

LSU 38, South Carolina 10

Alabama at Wisconsin – I mean, Wisconsin isn’t that good, but Alabama beating them is going to cement Kalen DeBoer as the greatest hire in Tide history. Also, this would be a much better choice for Gameday. Bammers don’t want Milroe anymore. He’ll scrape out a win here.

Alabama 24, Wisconsin 20

Boston College at Missouri – Good Lord. Maybe it’s the weather, but cynical Blogle is here. Boston College is middle of the road at best. Missouri has gotten wayyyy too much hype. Boston College is perceived as good because they beat 0-2 Florida State. So Missouri is going to beat them decently and we’re going to have to make up a number better than 1 to rank the Tigers.

Missouri 34, Boston College 20

Tulane at Oklahoma – The Sooners didn’t look great last week in a close win against not great Houston. Tulane lost by a touchdown to Top 15 Kansas State last week. It could be close, but Oklahoma won’t lose to the Green Wave.

Oklahoma 31, Tulane 17

Texas A&M at Florida – Both already have a loss against respectable opponents. Both looked bland in those losses. Both have beaten cupcakes like they should. I think Florida probably wins at home, although I think it’s time we start to realize that Florida’s “prestige” only started during Spurrier.

Florida 23, Texas A&M 14

UAB at Arkansas – UAB got beaten badly by UL-Monroe last week. You’ll remember that UL-Monroe also beat Nick Saban’s Alabama a few years back. Arkansas got a dose of reality last week, but yeah, the Blazers appear to be bad.

Arkansas 42, UAB 9

Ole Miss at Wake Forest – Here’s a weird one. Wake Forest just gave up a 14-point lead to lose to Virginia. Virginia double-dribbled. So, Ole Miss gets to rack up a P4 win against a team that most SEC teams will kill. They’ll score 50. People will believe in Lane even more because of all the points. It’s not real.

Ole Miss 51, Wake Forest 21

UT-San Antonio at Texas – Ok fine, you go to the Big House and destroy Michigan, you get a cupcake at home. At least you’ll play smaller in-state teams UNLIKE SOMEBODY.

Texas 58, UT-San Antonio 7

Vanderbilt at Georgia State – Vanderbilt will be ranked next week after putting 45 on Georgia State. Watch.

Vanderbilt 45, Georgia State 13

Georgia at Kentucky – Georgia killed Clemson then a cupcake. Kentucky put 31 on Southern Miss then had 31 put on them by South Carolina. They aren’t good, and I’m just glad the world gets to see it earlier this year.

Georgia 38, Kentucky 7

Toledo at Mississippi State – I fell asleep last Saturday and completely missed that the Maroons gave Arizona State their first football win against the SEC ever. EVER. This should be grounds for expulsion, but sometimes easy wins are nice.

Mississippi State 49, Toledo 21

Kent State at Tennessee – Nick Saban’s alma mater travels to Knoxville and will meet the fate that most Tennessee teams had against Nick Saban. They just lost to St. Francis in football. Yeah, it’s like the Golden Flashes are volunteering to give up 100.

Tennessee 63, Kent State 10

New Mexico at Auburn – Check back later for my prediction in the game preview, but SPOILER ALERT: I bet we run.

Other Games of Note

Arizona at Kansas State (9/13) – Arizona is 2-0 and ranked. They shouldn’t be. Kansas State is top 15. They shouldn’t be. That’s why this game is being played on a Friday night. Who cares?

Kansas State 31, Arizona 17

Oregon at Oregon State – The Ducks are struggling. The Beavers are beating nobodies. If there’s a year to do it, this is it.

Oregon State 27, Oregon 24

Now that you know who will win, head on over to the 2024 War Blogle Pick ’em and get your picks in. There will be weekly prizes and an overall winner at the end of the season. It’s easy. Do it.
