Auburn fell 44-39 to Florida in a game that was somehow both encouraging and concerning. The defense looked uncharacteristically out of position at times and the offense seemed to improve from week 1 and 2, after the first quarter. We have an idea of what this Auburn team is, but the picture is not complete.
🏈 VANDY WEEK
Auburn welcomes Vanderbilt to Jordan-Hare Saturday for Homecoming and is a lofty 9.5 favorite. Vegas sees something the cynical Auburn fans don’t.
⛳ KOIVUN AT THE PRESIDENTS CUP
Jackson Koivun won a National Championship with Auburn 112 days ago and is now representing the USA on one of golfs biggest stages. Koivun made his Presidents Cup debut Thursday, teaming up with Justin Thomas and picked up team USA’s first point at Medinah.
🏈 GRUDEN LOVES AUBURN
Jon Gruden made the trip to Auburn for the Florida game as part of his College Roadtrip series and apparently left a pretty big fan. He’s been posting about Auburn ever since, including a stop at Toomer’s for some lemonade.
🏀 BASKETBALL IS BACK
Auburn basketball officially started preseason practice Wednesday as Steven Pearl begins year two. Pearl says the focus now is getting a talented group to play together and finding the right rotations.
🏀 SEC/ ACC CHALLENGE
Auburn will tip off at Clemson at 6 p.m. CT on ESPNU for the SEC/ACC Challenge, while the Wisconsin game is set for 3 p.m. CT on ESPN. The Tigers also get Arizona and the Las Vegas event. Steve Pearl is still waiting on final decisions from the NCAA on 3 new additions to the team.
🏐 VOLLEYBALL KEEPS ROLLING
Auburn volleyball swept the Alabama Showdown with wins over UAB, Samford and South Alabama. The Tigers have now won seven straight and head to Arkansas Friday.
⚽ WOMEN’S SOCCER GETS AN SEC WIN
Auburn women’s soccer picked up its first SEC win of the season with a shutout over Ole Miss last Friday night. Big confidence boost after dropping a game to Alabama.
🐴 EQUESTRIAN IS BACK
The 3rd ranked Auburn equestrian opens its season at home this week against Lynchburg and Bridgewater. Auburn returns three Jumping Seat All-Americans and as usual looks like a preseason favorite to win it all.
🦅 AUBURN IN THE NFL
Tank Bigsby got a much bigger role for the Eagles Sunday and finished with 13 carries for 33 yards and a touchdown in Philadelphia’s 24-20 win over Tennessee. Derrick Brown had a quiet game with 2 solo tackles but Carolina’s defense dominated.
⚽ FREDDY IN AUBURN
2026 World Cup internet sensation Freddy made it to Auburn for the Florida weekend and somehow ended up hanging out with Paul Finebaum. Freddy first visited when Auburn hosted Lionel Messi and Argentina for a friendly match with Iceland. Great exposure for the Loveliest Village on the Plains.
📚 ACADEMICS IS A THING TOO
In the words of Bruce Pearl, “we’re an everything school”. Auburn moved into the Top 100 universities nationally and Top 50 public schools in the latest U.S. News rankings.
