The week before rivalry week is usually a good time to get the average up, but now there are actually tough games due to 100 SEC teams being the conference. That said, I did Week 13 well.
Last Week: 10-2 (83.3%)
This Week: 0-0 (0.0%)
Overall: 101-43 (70.1%)
Rivalry week is always tough. The better team usually wins, but there aren’t many probable blowouts in the mix. There are two games Friday, so let’s get it going…
11/29
Mississippi State at Ole Miss – I remember when this game meant something. Wait, no I don’t. It’s a high school rivalry in high school stadiums. The Maroons have been awful all year and now Ole Miss has nothing to play for. It’ll be something to watch on Friday. That’s about it.
Ole Miss 38, Mississippi State 17
Georgia Tech at Georgia – I remember when this game meant something. Wait, no I don’t. Nobody in Georgia cares about this game except Georgia Tech fans. The Bulldogs are playing for playoff seeding. The Yellowjackets want to try to ruin that. They won’t.
Georgia 41, Georgia Tech 14
11/30
Tennessee at Vanderbilt – Every year I am still shocked that the Volunteers get this as their rivalry game. Yes, I know Vandy is half-decent this year, but the last game should at least mean something.
Tennessee 34, Vanderbilt 20
South Carolina at Clemson – The Gamecocks have me pulling for Clemson. I’ve never seen a a more annoying, less deserving team.
Clemson 28, South Carolina
Louisville at Kentucky – I have thought about Louisville exactly 0 times this season. Just looked them up and they’re 7-4. That’s good enough to beat Kentucky.
Louisville 34, Kentucky 24
Arkansas at Missouri – The Hawgs should be playing LSU on Friday. What is this fake rivalry game? I’m glad that Missouri has finally been brought back down to Earth, but they’ll beat a mediocre Arkansas.
Missouri 31, Arkansas 14
Florida at Florida State – The Gators have gotten better. Florida State finally scored some touchdowns last week. The only problem is that they were against Charleston Southern. Florida will roll in a year that they know they can put it on the Seminoles.
Florida 42, Florida State 7
Oklahoma at LSU – I mean, this sounds like a big game. It’s not a rivalry, but it could be a massive game in future seasons. LSU is fledgling. Oklahoma was, but then they destroyed Alabama. I still feel like the Purple Tigers will be too much in Death Valley.
LSU 24, Oklahoma 14
Texas at Texas A&M – The return of the 5th best rivalry in college football means something. The Longhorns haven’t beaten a good team. Texas A&M really hasn’t either. But somehow they both have a chance to make the SEC Championship (the winner will face Georgia). Kyle Field is big and loud, but never seems to make a difference. Texas is better and will win.
Texas 31, Texas A&M 21
Auburn at Alabama – Check back later for my prediction in the game preview, but SPOILER ALERT: these teams are ships passing in the night.
Other Games of Note
Michigan at Ohio State –The 3rd best rivalry in college football means nothing once again. Ohio State will win by a ton.
Ohio State 49, Michigan 10
Notre Dame at USC – This one is only big by name, and there really are no other good non-SEC games (like most of the season). Notre Dame is playing for playoff seeding. They have it in them to lose, but USC isn’t good at all.
Notre Dame 28, USC 14
