Well, Week 1 wasn’t the best. Most of the big games were sort of weird and we don’t know ANYTHING about anybody, so get off me.
Last Week: 13-5 (72.2%)
This Week: 13-4 (76.5%)
Overall: 26-9 (74.3%)
Man, I really need some SEC-on-SEC games to pick up. This picking 18 games thing is getting tough.
9/7
Texas at Michigan – Well look at this. Looks big. Texas destroyed Colorado State last week. Michigan struggled with Fresno State until a 17-point 14th quarter. I think Texas is the much better team, but the Big House will bring the two teams a little closer. Won’t matter.
Texas 31, Michigan 17
Texas 31, Michigan 12 – SUCCESS!
Arkansas at Oklahoma State – This looks interesting as well. Arkansas destroyed somebody last week to make their fans think they have something. Oklahoma State gave up 20 points to South Dakota State, but scored a lot too. It’ll be close into the 4th, but the home team will pull away.
Oklahoma State 34, Arkansas 24
Oklahoma State 39, Arkansas 31 – SUCCESS!
McNeese at Texas A&M – I guess McNeese got rid of the State in it’s name. I guess Texas A&M isn’t as good as they thought they were.
Texas A&M 38, McNeese 7
Texas A&M 52, McNeese 10 – SUCCESS!
Tennessee Tech at Georgia – Will Tennessee Tech put up more of a fight than Clemson did against Georgia? Probably.
Georgia 56, Tennessee Tech 10
Georgia 48, Tennessee Tech 3 – SUCCESS!
South Carolina at Kentucky – The first SEC matchup of the season is against two teams that people beg to be good, but they just never will be. Kentucky will win and likely move into the top 25 because…¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Kentucky 27, South Carolina 13
South Carolina 31, Kentucky 6 – FAILURE
Middle Tennessee at Ole Miss – What’s with these teams dropping State from their name? Ole Miss gets another juggernaut to pump up those offensive stats as Lane Kiffin moves into the Coach of the Year conversation.
Ole Miss 52, Middle Tennessee 14
Ole Miss 52, Middle Tennessee 3 – SUCCESS!
South Florida at Alabama – This was the game that Milroe was benched last year, right? Yes, that was the day the Tide beat the hapless Bulls 17-3. Will this one be close again? No, because the devil is real.
Alabama 38, South Florida 0
Alabama 42, South Florida 16 – SUCCESS!
Buffalo at Missouri – It’s weird that there’s the Buffalo Bills and this is the Buffalo Bulls and a buffalo sorta looks like a bull, but it’s not. Right? No, I haven’t had anything to drink or smoke tonight. Why do you ask?
Missouri 35, Buffalo 3
Missouri 38, Buffalo 0 – SUCCESS!
Samford at Florida – These teams first and last met in 2021. Samford led the game at halftime by a score of 42-34. At the end, Florida won 70-52. I don’t know how good Samford is this season, but I know Florida has one of the toughest schedules ever and they don’t look equipped to handle it. They better take ones like this while they get ’em.
Florida 34, Samford 7
Florida 45, Samford 7 – SUCCESS!
Tennessee at NC State – Interesting little matchup here. It’s being played in the Carolina Panthers stadium, and it’s two teams that get entirely too much credit lately and then have nothing to show for it by the end of the season. The Vols destroyed their cupcake in week 1. NC State struggled with Western Carolina. Tennessee will win the stadium battle despite the game being in North Carolina. And they’ll win a game that’ll feel like a bowl game played on a Wednesday at noon.
Tennessee 24, NC State 17
Tennessee 51, NC State 10 – SUCCESS!
Nicholls at LSU – Another team that dropped the State from their name. Another LSU season starting 0-1. They’ll be 1-1 after this one.
LSU 48, Nicholls 10
LSU 44, Nicholls 21 – SUCCESS!
Alcorn State at Vanderbilt – Thank you for keeping the State in Alcorn State. We think Vandy is good because they beat a middle of the road Virginia Tech. They’ll be better than normal Vandy, but they’ll get way too much credit because the media loves a story.
Vanderbilt 42, Alcorn State 20
Vanderbilt 55, Alcorn State 0 – SUCCESS!
Houston at Oklahoma – Did y’all realize that Houston lost 27-7 to UNLV last week. Yeah… Oklahoma is really getting ready for the SEC here.
Oklahoma 41, Houston 14
Oklahoma 16, Houston 12 – SUCCESS!
Mississippi State at Arizona State – Didn’t the Maroons just play Arizona in a series? Yeah, they killed the Wildcats out there two years ago and barely beat them last year in Starkville. Now they’re going back out there for another series with their rival. Weird. The Sun Devils did destroy Wyoming last week and the Maroons destroyed Eastern Kentucky. Arizona State has never beaten an SEC team in football. This might be there first one. Sure.
Arizona State 24, Mississippi State 21
Arizona State 30, Mississippi State 23 – SUCCESS!
Alabama A&M at Auburn – Check back later for my prediction in the game preview, but SPOILER ALERT: last year wasn’t enough.
Auburn 38, Cal 17
Cal 21, Auburn 14 – FAILURE
Other Games of Note
Iowa State at Iowa – Modern football will be set back 100 years by the time this one is over.
Iowa 9, Iowa State 7
Iowa State 20, Iowa 19 – FAILURE
Georgia Tech at Syracuse – If this doesn’t show you what the national slate looks like. Seriously, now that the SEC has 16 teams, it’s like every single big game is related to the conference. Georgia Tech goes 3-0 without a single impressive win. They’ll be top 15 once it’s all said and done.
Georgia Tech 23, Syracuse 20
Syracuse 31, Georgia Tech 28 – FAILURE
