2023-2024 Bowl Predictions – Week 3

The 2nd half of the 2nd week of bowls went a little better than the ones before. I think I’ve secured at least a a little bit better than a 50 on the test. These transfers and quitters make this almost impossible.

Bowls: 25-17 (59.5%)
Regular Season: 111-34 (76.5%)
Overall: 136-51 (72.7%)

It’s time to close this thing out the right way. I’ll add the national championship game once we know the two teams that happened to make the finals of the four team tournament.

12/30

Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl
Ole Miss vs. Penn State – The Rebels are attacking the transfer portal because you can’t get a 17 year old to come to Oxford. Penn State is a big boy boring Big 10 football team. They’ll slow Lane down enough to win.

Penn State 27, Ole Miss 20

Ole Miss 38, Penn State 25 – FAILURE

TransPerfect Music City Bowl Bowl
Auburn vs. Maryland – Check my prediction in the game preview, but SPOILER ALERT: Tigers over Turtles.

Auburn 31, Maryland 17

Maryland 31, Auburn 13 – FAILURE

Capital One Orange Bowl
Georgia vs. Florida State – The Seminoles had a big chance to take this game seriously and finish the season undefeated and claim a national championship. Instead half the team is opting out or transferring. Georgia has their own quitters, but Florida State without many of their stars is an easy win.

Georgia 38, Florida State 10

Georgia 63, Florida State 3 – SUCCESS!

Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl
Toledo vs. Wyoming – The last game of 2023 is the monumental matchup between the Rockets and Cowboys. I want to live in Wyoming one day, so they’ll win.

Wyoming 30, Toledo 20

Wyoming 16, Toledo 15 – SUCCESS!

1/1

ReliaQuest Bowl
Wisconsin vs. LSU – The Purple Tigers are missing some of their stars, but they still have plenty more firepower than the slowest, most boring style of football in America.

LSU 42, Wisconsin 24

LSU 35, Wisconsin 31 – SUCCESS!

Vrbo Fiesta Bowl
Liberty vs. Oregon – Liberty is cool and all. They went undefeated, but as we’ve seen with nearly every P5 vs. G5 bowl matchup, the level of football talent will show. Bo Nix didn’t quit on his team and will go out a winner. It will look easy.

Oregon 52, Liberty 10

Oregon 45, Liberty 6 – SUCCESS!

Cheez-It Citrus Bowl
Iowa vs. Tennessee – There’s no way this isn’t a Music City Bowl or Outback Bowl. When I think of random New Years’ Day bowl between the SEC and Big 10, this is what I think of. Tennessee’s quarterback quit on his team, so some backup that everybody is excited about is playing. He’ll struggle, and Iowa will have three safeties.

Tennessee 21, Iowa 9

Tennessee 35, Iowa 0 – SUCCESS!

Rose Bowl Game presented by Prudential
Alabama vs. Michigan – The Wolverines are better than the Tide. It’s that simple. Get them out of here.

Michigan 31, Alabama 24

Michigan 27, Alabama 20 – SUCCESS!

Allstate Sugar Bowl
Texas vs. Washington – I don’t think either team is elite. Texas lived off beating Alabama and everybody has wanted them to be back for over a decade. Washington beat Oregon twice. Both struggled against bad teams. I have no real idea, they both seem to be good, but slightly poser. Let’s flip a coin. Horns win.

Texas 31, Washington 28

Washington 37, Texas 31 – FAILURE

Now that I’ve picked the bowls, you should go join the bowl pick’em. Just make sure you have them in prior to each game, but go ahead and do them all so you don’t have to worry about it. There’s prizes and stuff.
