The matchups for November’s Maui 2018 Invitational Basketball Tournament were announced on Tuesday. The field includes high profile teams such as Duke, Xavier, Arizona, and Gonzaga, two defending conference champions in San Diego State and Auburn, and two programs looking rebound after last season in Illinois and Iowa State. This year’s tournament is loaded and could give a glimpse of what teams might be trending towards the top when March arrives.
The first game will feature Auburn vs. Xavier on November 19th. This adds a great basketball matchup for Auburn fans to start off Iron Bowl Week. Auburn and Xavier have played nine times previously (Xavier leads 5-4), and this should be a great early season test for two really good tournament teams.
Here’s a look at the rest of the tournament:

The winner of the Auburn-Xavier matchup will play the winner of the second game which features Duke and San Diego State. Duke is coming into the season after signing the top three recruits in the nation, and San Diego State is coming off a conference championship and tournament appearance.
