It was the 8th Capital City Classic. Auburn had won six of the previous seven. Auburn threw out a runner at the plate in the first, then promptly hit for the collective cycle en route to scoring 4 runs in the 1st inning alone.
Somewhere along the line Alabama scored their lone run on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch, but it took Auburn until the 7th to not score a run in an inning. It was a good night for Auburn. Very good. And Anfernee Grier will be a 1st round draft pick.
