Football season is over, and like clockwork I have flipped over to Auburn basketball superfan 100%. Yes, I know times have been tough, but it’s literally the only basketball I like. With it being the SEC opener, @BabyBlogle took to Auburn Arena to watch almost beat Missouri. It was fun.

I know this is a belated comment, but I thought about this watching the end of the Mizzuo/AUB game. I feel like this far into the season your squad should know who their “time winding down, last shot, put da team on dey back” guy is! Go ahead watch the clip again… not a single Tiger wanted the ball with the game on the line. Whether it’s coaching, talent, or a combination of both, Auburn needs to reevaluate their approach to the basketball program. Recruit some scrappers who play with a chip on their shoulder. Look at a program like VCU. (FYI I’m an Auburn grad who grew up and resides in Richmond, please excuse perceived bias) They’re program isn’t made up of 5 star recruits or big names. Just high energy guys willing to fight for every possession. It’s amazing what that type of energy brings to not only a program, but to a fan base. It only took one bad season for our athletic department to change the direction of our football program. How many bad seasons will it take for us to stop accepting such a poor product of basketball? I hate coming off negative, but the program needs a spark to have a chance at becoming relevant again. I love Auburn, but hate seeing the level of mediocrity in our basketball program which has seemingly become acceptable…
