The Dirty Tiger Challenge 5K mud race will be held on August 25th, 2012 at 500 Lee County Road 677 (map) in Auburn (old Southern Springs Equine Farm). Participants will take on over a dozen challenges including climbing walls, rope courses, wading through lakes and creeks, crawling through mud, etc.
Registration fees start at $55 and part of the proceeds will benefit The Chizik Family You-Turn Foundation, Tony Barbee’s M.A.D.E., and the Rangers Assistance Foundation. You are also allowed to sign up as a team. Teams of seven or more will receive a $10 discount per person. Volunteers will get to run the course for free.

Personally, I ran another mud race at this same location back in April. It was my first race of any kind and it was awesome. The course is very different in the Dirty Tiger 5K, so if you did Mud Mania, it won’t be the same experience.
If you think it will be too tough or you’re not into racing, most of these mud things aren’t really a race. I mean there are some people (like me) that will do their best to get a good time, but most people take their time and just have fun with the obstacles and the mud. Lots just dress up like something ridiculous and roll around on the ground for a few hours.
No excuses. If you love Auburn, be there.

Too bad that the Dirty Tiger Tiger Challenge just copied Mud Mania and used the exact same obstacles. They actually booted the guy that leased the land so they could put this DTC on. These guys are a peace of work to that to anyone!!
