Week 3 Predictions: It’s Starting to Get Real

Week 2 was strong. When there are 100 games to predict, you’re gonna get tripped up occasionally, especially with a few upsets.

Last Week: 14-3 (82.4%)
This Week: 0-0 (0.0%)
Overall: 31-4 (88.6%)

We finally get a few more conference games this week, which means I don’t have to talk about a million games. It’s starting to get real.

9/13

Oklahoma at Temple – A week after knocking off Michigan, the Sooners take a step up by playing… AT TEMPLE?!!?! I knew this was a bad idea letting them in the conference. This some Vandy stuff.

Oklahoma 30, Temple 7

Wisconsin at Alabama – Wisconsin isn’t good, but we’re going to act like they are so when Alabama beats them it means BAMA’s BACK!

Alabama 34, Wisconsin 10

Georgia at Tennessee – Both played cupcakes last week. One killed their cupcake. One won 28-6. The one who killed their cupcake is the home team this week. It’s hard to believe they are that good, but the one who beat Austin Peay 28-6 doesn’t appear to be great either and that might make the orange team hopeful, which is sometimes all it takes. I don’t know why I’m not using their names. Tennessee is probably gonna win.

Tennessee 24, Georgia 20

Louisiana at Missouri – I ask this every year. Why does Louisiana-Lafayette get to call themselves Louisiana now? What about UL-Monroe and such? People are starting to think Missouri is good again because they beat Kansas. This game will only enhance that sentiment, although it shouldn’t.

Missouri 38, Louisiana 13

UTEP at Texas – Since losing to Ohio State, the Longhorns are beating up on the little guys to help Arch figure out how to complete a pass.

Texas 41, UTEP 3

Alcorn State at Mississippi State – The Maroons are excited. They beat ASU last week. This week they get to play another ASU, and yeah, it’s not the same one.

Mississippi State 42, Alcorn State 7

Arkansas at Ole Miss – The Razorbacks destroyed their in-state brother last week. Ole Miss struggled with bad Kentucky. I think these two may be very close to each other, but the Rebels are at home.

Ole Miss 31, Arkansas 24

Florida at LSU – I have heard literally nothing about this game until right now. Remember when they used to try and say it was a big rivalry because they had a few close games? Now one of them is mediocre every year. This year it’s Florida… it might be LSU too.

LSU 21, Florida 20

Texas A&M at Notre Dame – There are teams that I don’t think deserve to play at Notre Dame because of their colors, their level of play, their history. Texas A&M is one of them. It just doesn’t look right. However, these teams are almost carbon copies of each other. The Aggies get the upset in this one.

Texas A&M 34, Notre Dame 31

Eastern Michigan at Kentucky – Zzzzzzzzzzz……..

Kentucky 17, Eastern Michigan 13

Vanderbilt at South Carolina – These two teams have both already played Virginia Tech. Both won. Vandy won much easier. Both team are extremely annoying for different reasons. I guess the home team wins, but can both lose?

South Carolina 24, Vanderbilt 21

South Alabama at Auburn – Check back later for my prediction in the game preview, but SPOILER ALERT: you can’t say Auburn is going to be surprised for a week. That’s not how it works.

Other Games of Note

Clemson at Georgia Tech – Clemson is not good this year. They’ve been on a downward trend for years. They lose to LSU, then need a big comeback to beat Troy. Georgia Tech is solid and will easily beat the Tigers.

Georgia Tech 37, Clemson 20

South Florida at Miami – South Florida has beaten Boise State and Florida. They’re fine. Beating those two teams, just because you’ve heard their names before, doesn’t mean they are elite. I don’t know that Miami is elite, but they are better than South Florida.

Miami 31, South Florida 20
