Ryan Russell Gets Auburn Ready for 2014

This blogle was PG (Pre-Golesh or Pre-Great Hacking of April 2026), so it may not look great. Help me out and send me a message if you notice anything that's off.

Gus Malzahn brought Strength & Conditioning Coach Ryan Russell from him when he was hired at Auburn from Arkansas State. His style was newer, faster, and more appropriate for the style of play Gus Malzahn wanted to bring to the Plains. Now, thanks to a video posted to Coach Russell’s YouTube account, we can see his style to the core (workout pun).

If you’ve done any of the P90x or Insanity workouts, you’ll notice a lot of the weights-less workouts the team is doing look very similar. Whatever you do, though, just watch the video to see Sammie Coates doing pullups with three plates (135 pounds) hanging from his belt. Warning: turn your speakers down a little bit.

  1. This workout video is amazing….so fast and strong.

  2. Ok, so I watched this video twice in succession and I feel faster, stronger and ready to go ALL FOUR quarters cheering on The Auburn Tigers! It’s just a game, but with Auburn it’s more than that. It’s a way of life that borders on religion.
