Happy Friday fellow degenerates. Hurricane Helena is finally pushing her way out of here after a solid 437 inches of rain the last two days in North Georgia. We’ve got power, we’re dry, and we’re ready to watch some college football. @Chuck and I just can’t shake the .500 record appears. Coming into last week we were (8-8) and low and behold we went (3-3) on last week’s slate, but hey, we did win the bonus teaser so don’t ever sleep on those!. Now sitting at (11-11) on the year let’s go on a little run here. Here are your week 5 winners…
Minnesota @ Michigan -10
Jimmy’s and Joe’s vs X’s and O’s. Minnesota simply doesn’t have the dudes to compete in this football game in this environment. The only hindrance would be if Michigan comes out a little flat after a big win against USC last week. We think even if that is the case Michigan should still win by two scores at home.
Arkansas @ Texas A&M -5.5
As an Auburn fan, Arkansas’ inability to put Auburn away after 5 turnovers was sort of telling. Texas A&M won’t commit turnover suicide the way Auburn did last week. 12th man will be enough to win by at least a touchdown.
Colorado +14 @ UCF
Colorado has improved enough up front to earn a little respect this season. Just a little bit though. Sanders makes enough plays at QB against this mediocre UCF defense to keep them within two scores.
Oklahoma @ Auburn U45.5
A struggling Auburn offense that can’t seem to protect the football against a true freshman QB making his first start in Jordan Hare stadium. An Oklahoma offense down its top four wide receivers? This just screams low scoring game. Auburn’s defense seems to be starting to click while Brent Venables always has a good defensive unit. Looking forward to a lot of field goals here.
Teaser Oklahoma +7/Alabama +7
Two games in which we anticipate the defenses to be the biggest factor. Two games in which could go either way. This just feels like a safe play considering both of these teams could very easily win outright. We anticipate both losing FYI, just not by 7 points.
Ohio State @ Michigan State +23.5
Ohio State has played, Akron, Western Michigan, and Marshall… Wow…Michigan state has been a more tested team and will be playing in a raucous home environment. We think Ohio State wins the football game, but 23.5 points is just too many. Let’s Sparty.
