March Madness is here! The best three weeks of the college basketball season kickoff and the Auburn Tigers are looking to bring home a national championship this year. The SEC Tournament champions are not the favorites, but remain as one of the contenders to make a deep run.
Auburn finds themselves in the East Region as the number four seed. There was some discussion that they should have earned a three seed after winning the conference tournament, but the selection committee seemed to not care. Also the Tigers will have to go all the way to Spokane, Washington (because that makes sense right?!).
Their opponents in round one are the 14th seed Yale Bulldogs. Yale comes into this matchup fresh off winning the Ivy League conference tournament with a buzzer beater over Brown. The Bulldogs finished third in the regular season standings with a 22-9 overall record. Tip-off for the game is at 3:15 P.M on March 22nd with coverage on TNT.
Below is a list of potential opponents that Auburn could face in the Round of 32 and the Sweet 16.
Round of 32
Winner of 5-seed San Diego State and 12-seed UAB.
Sweet 16
16-seed Stetson, 1-seed UConn, 9-seed Florida Atlantic, or 9-seed Northwestern.
On paper, it looks like Auburn will face San Diego State Aztecs and the UConn Huskies if they were advance to the Sweet 16. Both teams are coming off runs to the Final Four where UConn ended up winning the national championship. The Huskies look like the favorite to win the region, but Auburn and several teams will look to spoil the party.
If Auburn wins their opening two games, they will head to Boston the following weekend for the Sweet 16 and possibly an Elite 8 game.

Auburn Tigers had to travel 11 miles further than Bulldogs to Spokane. That did it
