Auburn Men’s Basketball is back. The Tigers are tipping off the new season with games against Baylor and Southeastern Louisiana this week. Auburn comes in with veteran experience and some new talent looking to make an impact. Here’s a look at this week’s opponents.
Auburn vs No. 20 Baylor Bears — Tipoff @ 8pm Tuesday on ESPN
The first game of season will be a test for Auburn as they head to South Dakota to face the Baylor Bears. Despite several of the Bears’ top stars departing last year for the NBA, head coach Bruce Pearl expects a tough game. Pearl also confirmed that Johnni Broom and Aden Holloway should be available after picking up some injuries. It’s a good opportunity for both teams to learn more about themselves.
Auburn vs Southeastern-Louisiana — Tipoff @ 7pm on Friday SECN+
Southeastern-Louisiana comes into Neville Arena looking to spoil Auburn’s home opener. The Lions finished 3rd in the Southland Conference last year with an 18-14 overall record. The Lions are the preseason favorite to win the regular season title. The Lions last appeared in the NCAA Tournament back in 2005. A win could help Auburn’s resume if the Lions were to win their conference title.
Looking Ahead
Auburn’s next opponents will be up at the Legends Classic in Brooklyn where they will face Notre Dame and the winner of the Oklahoma State and St. Bonaventure game. Auburn won the Legends Classic back in 2019.
