There are so many cyclical scenarios between different sets of three teams that it’s almost making this ranking impossible. But I did it. For you.
1. Georgia (10-0)
The Bulldogs won their fake big rivalry game.
(Last week: #1, beat Tennessee 41-17)
2. Alabama (9-1)
Alabama trailed in this game.
(Last week: #2, beat New Mexico State 59-3)
3. Ole Miss (8-2)
The Rebels are good, but not good enough to beat Auburn with Bo Nix.
(Last week: #5, beat Texas A&M 29-19)
4. Texas A&M (7-3)
The Aggies are not that good. They played Alabama like it was their Super Bowl and everything went their way. They got Auburn after a bye week. They have literally not cared about anything else.
(Last week: #3, lost at Ole Miss 29-19)
5. Auburn (6-4)
This drop is only because Bo Nix is hurt.
(Last week: #4, lost to Mississippi State 43-34)
6. Arkansas (7-3)
I refuse to pretend Arkansas is good because they beat Mississippi State by a missed field goal and beat LSU in OT. They are still that team that lost three in a row to better teams.
(Last week: #6, LSU 16-13)
7. Mississippi State (6-4)
Why aren’t the Maroons above Auburn? Because Auburn can’t be below Arkansas, and Arkansas can’t be below Mississippi State. Plus, Bo Nix is hurt.
(Last week: #7, beat Auburn 43-34)
8. Kentucky (7-3)
Worst 7-win team in the country. Keep beating that East.
(Last week: #8, beat Vanderbilt 34-17)
9. Tennessee (5-5)
Do what you do, Vols. Win these next two and let everybody pretend you’ve got it all figured out for next year.
(Last week: #10, lost to Georgia 41-17)
10. LSU (4-6)
It’s weird because LSU hasn’t played terribly the last two weeks, but they haven’t won either.
(Last week: #9, lost to Arkansas 16-13)
11. Missouri (5-5)
Missouri is always 5-5 aren’t they?
(Last week: #13, beat South Carolina 31-28)
12. South Carolina (5-5)
If you lose to Missouri, you are not good. It’s a rule.
(Last week: #11, lost at Missouri 31-28)
13. Florida (5-5)
I’m not even acknowledging you, right now.
(Last week #12, beat Samford 70-52)
14. Vanderbilt (2-8)
You made it respectable against Kentucky. Look at you.
(Last week: #14, lost to Kentucky 34-17)
