Not a good week last week, but come on. Twenty games. That’s ridiculous. Going 9-11 isn’t THAT bad considering the games we all had to suffer through, is it? Oh well, this week is much easier. We’ve got two good games, and two games you wouldn’t watch if your mama made you. It’s almost over, guys. 2013, the season of the Gus is almost here.

Texas A&M vs. Oklahoma – Johnny Manziel is big time now. Johnny Manziel is NBA courtside. Johnny Manziel is everywhere. Johnny Manziel has a football game to play… with his offensive coordinator gone. Johnny could begin his sophomore slump right now. I think A&M is the better team, but they have definitely had the most distractions in the last month, at least in terms of the star of the team.
I have a feeling he can fight through it and get the win, but I also feel like Oklahoma would like to put it to the guys who just the left their league. After giving it two more seconds of thought, the Aggies will win because they are just better.
Texas A&M 34, Oklahoma 20
Texas A&M 41, Oklahoma 13 – SUCCESS!

Pittsburgh vs. Ole Miss – Every year, I say I’m going to go to this bowl game, yet I’ve never been once. Why? Because it’s Legion Field. It’s usually cold, rainy, and gray. Oh, and the fact that I don’t want to see Pittsburgh for the 400th time. Ole Miss is one of the better SEC teams to be invited to this bowl in recent memory, but it’s not enough.
Ole Miss is better and is just happy to be back in a bowl game. Pitt for some reason keeps agreeing to come to Birmingham. They know the ins-and-outs of the Wynfrey better than the janitorial staff does.
Ole Miss 31, Pittsburgh 10
Ole Miss 38, Pittsburgh 17 – SUCCESS!

Kent State vs. Arkansas State – When did we decide that the national championship game had to be a week after New Year’s Day and we had to fill time with bowls that should have been played in the middle of December? Seriously. I wouldn’t watch this on a Wednesday night (now that Gus is gone). It is actually a good matchup, though. I’ll go with Kent State since they haven’t had near the turnover that the Red Wolves have had.
Kent State 38, Arkansas State 31
Arkansas State 17, Kent State 13 – FAILURE

Notre Dame vs. Alabama – As much as I don’t want to hear, read, smell, or taste “FIFTEEN” for the next 20 years, it’s going to happen. Notre Dame limped through the season barely knocking off very easy opponents all year. Alabama’s schedule wasn’t that great, and they should have lost the three toughest games on the schedule. Instead, they only lost one. I guess that’s what’s champions are made of right?!??! Bear Bryant ain’t been nothing but a winner, you know? Except when he played Notre Dame.
The Irish would lose to 5 or 6 SEC teams. It’s just a fact, and I have no ill-will towards them. Rudy is one of my favorite movies. I just don’t think they are near as good as the top of the SEC, and that’s what they are getting. By the 4th quarter it won’t even be close, and that’s about as Auburn-homer, uber-optimistic that I can make it.
Alabama 34, Notre Dame 10
Alabama 42, Notre Dame 14 – SUCCESS!

I’m gonna watch Arky St just to see how Rhett Lashlee runs the team. Go Red Wolves, or whatever they are.
