- Let’s talk rankings. You know, those things that say Auburn is better than Alabama? Yes, let’s. Auburn moved up one spot to #7 in both the AP poll and Coaches’ poll this week.
- The Auburn-loving CollegeFootballNews.com poll maker must have returned this week. They have the Tigers at #4.
- If the BCS rankings came out this week, Auburn would be exactly where the other major polls have them, but they have someone else at the top.
- Chris Low has a new team at the top of his SEC Power Rankings. Guess who it is.
- Here’s more on the rankings, and who should be ranked ahead of who based on the head-to-head results.
- Even though the Tigers are already bowl-eligible and the Tide are not, Alabama’s loss hurt Auburn’s bowl projections according to Schlabach (the Tigers were in the Sugar last week).
- Apparently, Florida is still going to end up being the #2 team in the SEC, according to CFN’s Bowl Projections.
- Cam Newton is about to have to start putting helmet stickers on top of helmet stickers.
- Having said that, his four touchdown performance against Kentucky wasn’t good enough for another SEC Player of the Week honor (I think we’ll gladly let Garcia have this one), but Wes Byrum kept the streak alive for the Tigers.
- Mike Dyer doesn’t have a Heisman vote, but if he did, he would vote for his quarterback.
- A guy from ESPNU who runs the ESPN Heisman site, says Cam Newton is #1 on his list. Make sure you read his reasoning, it’s pretty awesome.
- Doug Segrest takes a look back at week 6 and gives us his Heisman predictions.
- Chris Low takes a look back at the first half of the season. Having the best coach with the best quarterback is good, right?
- He also wonders if Auburn’s final drive against Kentucky was season defining.
- Jay Coulter called Saturday night a championship performance.
- Here is what Chizik said after the Kentucky win. Here is what Joker said after the Auburn loss.
- Chizik and Saban’s first two years at their current schools are very, very similar, but at this point, Chizik has done better.
- I’ll talk more about this in my Kentucky review, but Barrett Sallee pretty much says what I’m going to say about Auburn’s 2nd-half game plan.
- Auburn will play LSU…at 2:30 CT…on CBS…with those commercial breaks. That makes two weeks in a row with no McElroy and Saban. What is Verne gonna do?
- And lastly, Mr. “Pottymouth followed by an apology” is back at it again.
